Rose Sunday Homily and more

From Deacon Ron Reno:

God willing Father Andrews and Anneliese will be with us for the Fourth Sunday in Advent. Pray for traveling mercies and good weather. It is a blessing for us to have them and their love of God and us is unwavering.

We are planning to have a Christmas Eve service. Although the campus will be closed through January 3rd, they will keep the chapel open for us for all of our services. If possible, please come to the December 24th service, honor Jesus’ birth and enjoy some great music.

As we progress in this Advent journey, God calls us to pay attention; believe that His divine presence is every where. We believe His divine presence is all around us; we just need to open our senses and be still, and recognize that quiet voice that God’s son is coming.

O Lord Jesus Christ, who at thy first coming didst send thy messenger to prepare the way before thee; Grant that the ministers and stewards of thy mysteries may likewise so prepare and make ready thy way, by turning the hearts of the disobedient to the wisdom of the just, that at thy second coming to judge the world we may be found an acceptable people in thy sight, who livest and reignest with the Father and the Holy Spirit ever, one God, world without end. Amen….Collect for Advent 3, God bless, Deacon

First Sunday in Advent homily and more

From Deacon Ron Reno:

God willing we will have an Advent 2 service this weekend. We made the right move cancelling last weekend because of the bad weather. The safety of our people is a priority and ice is not a friend unless it is in a cold drink. Father and Anneliese will not be here this week after all and are planning to be here for Advent 4. I know they want to be with us.

Almighty God, give us grace that we may cast away the works of darkness, and put upon us the armour of light, now in the time of this mortal life, in which thy Son Jesus Christ came to visit us in great humility; that in the last day when he shall come again in his glorious majesty to judge both the quick and the dead, we may rise to the life immortal, through him who liveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy Ghost, now and ever. Amen.

Father’s homily is a history lesson. We do not chase fads and are true to Church tradition and theology. God bless, Deacon
