Palm Sunday and more

From Deacon Ron Reno:

We were blessed to have Father Andrews and Anneliese for our Palm Sunday Service. Without Father we would not be able to feed God’s children with the Sacrament of Holy Communion. Father always makes sure we have both elements in our tabernacle for use of the Presanctifed Gifts which I am allowed by our Bishops to do. Baptism, Confirmation and Communion brings us to the fullness of our life in Christ. Receiving Holy Communion brings us grace that affects us both spiritually and physically. Spiritually it helps our souls to be united with Christ and physically it leads us closer to sanctification of our own bodies. God bless you Father for all you do for this mission church.

The choir did all the antiphons for the Palm Sunday Rite including for the blessing and distribution of the Palms. Thank you choir!  The vocal postlude “Behold and SEE” from Handel was exceptional. We actually succeeded doing the Passion of Mathew as a church group; it was a true blessing.

ALMIGHTY and everlasting God, who thy tender love towards mankind, hast sent thy Son, our Saviour Jesus Christ, to take upon him our flesh, and to suffer death upon the cross, that all mankind should follow the example of his great humility; Mercifully grant, that we may both follow the example of his patience, and also be made partakers of his resurrection; through the same Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

We will have a Good Friday service at 6PM. Easter will be observed at our normal time. God bless, Deacon

Fifth Sunday in Lent plus more

From Deacon Ron Reno:

We will be blessed to have Father Andrews and Anneliese for Palm Sunday and the beginning of Holy Week. David and Julie will be here also for another two weeks before they travel back to Michigan. Father will have two acolytes and a Deacon serving this week. God will be pleased that all of His children are doing His work. God willing, our little group will do Mathew 27: The Passion of our Lord Jesus Christ. It will be a challenge but we can do it for the glory of God.

We finished our annual meeting last week. All officers were chosen and our budget was approved.

The offertory anthem ”Eripe Me Domine” by the choir was exceptional and the communion anthem “Stabat Mater Dolorosa” was equally exceptional. Thank you Nick, Julia, Lynda and Julie sharing your God given talents with us. It is so wonderful to have music with the Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts.

WE beseech thee, Almighty God, mercifully to look upon thy people; that by thy goodness they may be governed and preserved evermore, both in body and soul; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

ALMIGHTY and everlasting God, who hates nothing that thou hast made, and dost forgive the sins of all who are penitent; Create and make in us new and contrite hearts, that we, worthily lamenting our sins and acknowledging our wretchedness, may obtain of thee, the God of all mercy, perfect remission and forgiveness; through Jesus Christ our Lord.

We are planning for a Good Friday service as well as a Saturday Easter Service for Holy Week. Father’s homily was exceptional; please take time to read it. God bless, Deacon

Third Sunday in Lent homily and more

From Deacon Ron Reno:

Blessings all around. Father Andrew and his lovely wife Anneliese were here for the Third Sunday in Lent. It is always great for them to be with us. It is a blessing for us that he drives 8 hours to feed God’s children. We always pray for traveling mercies for them.

Father, you mean so much to this mission church. We were also blessed to have David and Julie here. They have moved to Michigan to be closer to his aging parents but will remain members of our small group. We have so many God loving people in this mission church.

Nick, Lynda, Julia and Julie had beautiful Godly music for this Mass. They sang an offertory anthem “Virgo virginium preclaire from Sabet Mater” by Rheinberger in Latin. They always surprise me with their God given talents. Please click on the attached bulletin to see what music was offered for Father Andrews. Father had some input on choices of the music.

WE beseech thee, Almighty God, look upon the hearty desires of thy humble servants, and stretch forth the right hand of thy Majesty, to be our defense against all our enemies; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen “Collect for the third Sunday in Lent”

ALMIGHTY and everlasting God, who hates nothing that thou hast made, and dost forgive the sins of all those who are penitent; Create and make in us new and contrite hearts, that we, worthily lamenting our sins and acknowledging our wretchedness; may obtain of thee, the God of mercy, perfect remission and forgiveness; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. This collect is be said all through the Lenten season from Ash Wednesday until Palm Sunday.

Continue to pray for Bishop Ashman. He is getting better and praying helps. Our Bishops and Priests need our prayers because the devil is relentless in working against them. The devil is not omnipresent like God; but when we pray, we counter with the spiritual goodness that the devil cannot defeat. God bless, Deacon
