Fifth Sunday after Easter homily and more

From Deacon Ron Reno:

Remember the Easter season lasts until Pentecost (Whitsunday) June 8. It is the longest liturgical season and be of joyful exultation. The Deacon, his daughter and granddaughter are going hiking in Colorado and won’t be there on that date. Pray for traveling mercies.

O LORD, from whom all good things do come; Grant to us thy humble servants, that by thy holy inspiration we may think those things that are good, and by thy merciful guiding may perform the same; through our Lord Jesus Christ.. Amen.

Fourth Sunday after Easter homily and more

From Deacon Ron Reno:

God willing David (Skip) Sopscak will be with us on Saturday. David was in town and invited me to watch some BIG 10 tournament baseball games yesterday; it was a blessing.

ALMIGHTY God, who hast given thine only Son to be unto us both a sacrifice for sin, and also an ensample of godly life; Give us grace that we may always most thankfully receive that his inestimable benefit, and also daily endeavor ourselves to follow the blessed steps of his most holy life; through the same Jesus Christ our lord. Amen.  God bless, Deacon

Time change this weekend

From Deacon Ron Reno:

Our worship service is moved to 11:30 this Sunday morning on May 18. Please note this change. The College of Saint Mary is having their graduation this Saturday morning. We are blessed to use this chapel and the fact that CSM appreciates us is another blessing.

I love that our Easter services have all ended with the “Regina Coeli.” Our choir can do it in Latin or English. It is a Marian and Christological prayer that honors the Virgin Mary during the Easter season. What a blessing for us that our choir does this medieval prayer that commemorates the Incarnation of Christ in the womb of the Virgin Mary.

ALMIGHTY God, who showest to them that are in error the light of thy truth, to the intent that they may return into the way of righteousness; Grant unto all those who are admitted into the fellowship of Christ’s Religion, that they may avoid those things that are contrary to their profession, and follow all things as are agreeable to the same; through our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

One of Father Ponec’s last Easter homilies. God bless, Deacon
